Canada has been an automotive manufacturing nation for more than 110 years and remains a major regional —and global player to this day. Ford, General Motors, Honda, Stellantis and Toyota operate production facilities in Canada along with leading truck and bus manufacturers such as Hino, New Flyer Group, PACCAR and Volvo Bus, recreational and prototype vehicles such as BRP and Multimatic.
Automotive is one of Canada’s largest industrial sectors accounting for more than $19 Billion of the country’s GDP. Canada produces passenger and commercial vehicles, including trucks and buses, auto parts and systems, truck bodies and trailers, as well as machines-tools-dies-moulds (MTDM). The industry is highly concentrated in Ontario, with manufacturing centres also located in Quebec, Manitoba and British Columbia.

Founded in 1952, its members account for 90 of the parts, components and systems production in Canada.
